Orlando Payne

Growing up, I was the kid who lived and breathed baseball. High school and college were filled with dreams of stepping onto a major league field, hearing the crowds cheer, and living the life I’d envisioned since I picked up my first glove. But as I got older, reality set in, and it became clear that the pro ballplayer life wasn’t going to happen. That was a defining moment—not just an end, but a chance to start something new.

Determined to carve out a future for myself and my family, I shifted my focus to education. I earned a degree in computer science from Barry University, a stepping stone that led me to a successful 16-year career in the tech industry. I loved the challenge and growth it provided, but life isn't just about work—it’s also about family. My two beautiful children became my greatest motivation to push harder, dream bigger, and give them the best life I could.

Later on, I found myself in a completely different world, working at a nursing home for three years. Those years taught me so much about compassion, patience, and serving others with a kind heart. They were lessons that would carry over into everything that came next.

Five to six years ago, I decided to pivot again and obtained my Insurance License. It was one of the most rewarding decisions of my life. Helping families protect their futures became my mission, and each year, I’ve been able to assist over 400 families in securing their loved ones’ well-being. My dedication paid off—I’ve been a Hall of Fame producer for three years running and am on track to make it four. But I wasn’t content to stop there.

Driven by a desire to create something of my own, I founded my own insurance agency, Mass Appeal. Building this agency allowed me to leave my own mark, not just on the industry, but on the lives of the families I serve. It’s not just about insurance; it’s about trust, care, and building a legacy.

My life has been full of twists and turns—from dreaming of the major leagues to raising two amazing kids, from mastering computer science to founding my own business. It’s a story of resilience, adaptability, and never giving up. Every challenge has been a step up, every pivot a chance to grow. Through it all, I’ve learned that the key to success isn’t just chasing dreams but having the courage to create new ones when life calls for change.
